Order & build process

When ordering a custom Moda boat the process is slightly different to the normal off the shelf production type. As each boat is taylored to suit the customer almost every package is different. Because of this it is hard for us to provide exact ‘standards & options’ brochures & pricing; each boat must be quoted individually.

Quoting our Semi custom range:

The standard Moda quotation process consists of 5 steps

Step 1:  Choose a hull series & length

Step 2 : Choose a layout

Step 3 : Create a wish list from our brochure

Step 4 : Engine/s and electronics wish list

Step 5 : Contact us for further information and a quote.

Once you are happy with the final price and want to go ahead with the build you can secure your spot on our calendar with a $1000 deposit.

Quoting our Full custom one off builds:

Sometimes you may not find the boat you are looking for and require a full custom design from the keel up to fulfill your dreams. We can help you in this process however this process does time extra time and care to provide a quote.

The custom boat process consists of:

Step 1: A one on one meeting in our design office with the team to discuss options

Step 2: Quote deposit – covers our time in quoting

Step 3: Design deposit – covers Prelim 3d renders.

Step 4: Final meeting to then proceed to contract stage.

We work to a standard ship building contract with a multiple stage payment schedule similar to the process when building a new house. At the end of each stage the customer owns the vessel up until that point. We find this process is fair and takes the worry away from the customer.

During the build process we prefer to keep the customer well informed and involved just in case new ideas or changes need to take place. With our past experience this allows the customer to get exactly what they want in their new boat and enjoy watching it come to life.
